The Gilgit-Baltistan Hunting Trophy is a controlled, government-sanctioned program in northern Pakistan that allows hunters to hunt specific species of wildlife under strict regulations. The primary species available for hunting include the Himalayan Ibex, Markhor, Blue Sheep, and Urial. These hunts typically occur between November and April, coinciding with the prime season for spotting these animals.

This program serves a dual purpose: generating revenue for the local communities and promoting wildlife conservation. A significant portion of the trophy fees is returned to the local population, encouraging them to protect wildlife instead of engaging in poaching. By legalizing and controlling the hunting of limited numbers of these species, the initiative aims to protect endangered populations while providing economic benefits to remote areas of Gilgit-Baltistan.

The region's stunning landscapes, including rugged mountain terrain and expansive valleys, add to the allure for international hunters. However, the hunts are tightly regulated, with permits and quotas issued by the Wildlife Department of Gilgit-Baltistan to ensure the sustainability of the wildlife populations.
